Fallout: New Vegas clears 5m copies

ethesda has proud irradiated tears in their eyes as Fallout: New Vegas has sold 5 million copies around the globe, pulling in revenue of $300 million.

They've got "substantial re-orders" from retailers as demand continues enjoying "tremendous popularity" with fans; a "must buy" for Christmas.

"We are delighted by the reception Fallout: New Vegas has received from fans around the world,” said Bethesda's Vlatko Andonov. Obsidian Entertainment developed New Vegas, and their studio is comprised of Black Isle Fallout veterans.

“Despite the large launch quantities for this title, we have already received substantial re-orders from our retail partners, underscoring the tremendous popularity of this highly entertaining game. We believe Fallout: New Vegas will be the “must buy” title for gamers throughout the holiday season.” Sadly bugs continue to mar the experience.

Bethesda has announced a "comprehensive patch" is in the final testing stages and will roll out in the coming weeks for all three platforms. Meanwhile a PC patch is due this week that will help tune up the game and alleviate some technical glitches.
