Tim Schafer "ready to do" Psychonauts 2, is missing a publisher

Double Fine founder Tim Schafer, developer of Brutal Legend, would "love to do" a sequel to Psychonauts but it's "a question of getting a publisher" for it.

While critically well received, Psychonauts' sales were lacklustre and it suffered from rampant piracy. It's "gotten out there" so it could be "a big hit."

"I'm ready to do it. I'd love to do it. It's really a question of getting a publisher who's interested in doing it," said Tim Schafer, a creator behind Monkey Island. "Over the years it's gotten into the hands of a lot of people, through being two dollars on Steam for a while, and being pirated." Word-of-mouth could very well save the franchise.

"So it's gotten out there. So if all these people were going to buy the sequel it would be a big hit," added the Double Fine big cheese. Fellow Monkey Island alumni Ron Gilbert joined Schafer's studio in October. Would you love a second Psychonauts videogame?
