Kinect's "mandatory" Minority Report-style PC interface shown

Coding enthusiasts have been learning to speak Kinect's language so they can integrate its motion tech with PCs, and there has been quick success.

One coder thought he'd do us all a favour and get that "picture-browsing stuff done" - like in Minority Report - "out of the way" so we can focus elsewhere.

"I thought I'd get the mandatory picture-browsing stuff done so it's out of the way and everybody can focus on more interesting things," said the creator of a YouTube video which shows a 95 second clip of him using Kinect to manipulate stacks of images.

None of these exploits constitutes a 'hack' say Microsoft as the hardware and software of Kinect is unmodified. "What has happened is someone has created drivers that allow other devices to interface with the Kinect for Xbox 360. The creation of these drivers, and the use of Kinect for Xbox 360 with other devices, is unsupported," said Microsoft.

Check out the hard work of one determined coder below.
