GameStop to stock PSN DLC this Christmas, online and in-store

When you're browsing that 'ungrateful to the industry' trade-in section of games at US retailer GameStop this Christmas, don't forget your DLC swag.

Digital content for PS3 will be available to buy in-store and online from GameStop, helping out those who "aren't even aware" such additional content exists.

That and it'll pad their bottom line out a bit more. "As part of our digital strategy, our goal is to help make extended game play of popular titles discoverable for our customers,” said Tony Bartel, GameStop president. Money, gift cards and trade-in credit are accepted.

"In many cases, customers aren’t even aware of certain add-on content for their favorite videogames, and our in-store DLC centers are a great way to discover what’s available."

"DLC content, which typically costs between $10 and $15, also makes terrific holiday gifts for gamers who enjoy playing titles with available add-on content."

"To make this work, we partnered very closely with Microsoft and Sony to link our point of sale directly into their systems in order to provide customers with instantaneous access to the DLC they wish to purchase. We anticipate we’ll complete the nationwide rollout of Sony DLC within a few short weeks in order to service customers during the busy holiday shopping season." Xbox Live content started stocking earlier in the year.

The US retailer already offers their own digital purchases of PC titles as well. The PSN goods will be going on sale in time for Santa's visit this year say GameStop.
