GameStop hit by armed robbers, over 100 Black Ops copies taken

US retailer GameStop has had its Bel Air store in Harford County, Md. robbed by armed assailants who made off with over 100 game copies.

Their target was Call of Duty: Black Ops which releases officially tomorrow. The two also stole cash and consoles. The local sheriff appeals for info.

Not exactly the best news for a retailer or publisher to hear, despite its indirect compliment that Black Ops is just so damn good for some that people will rob stores for it. The local sheriff is asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Over 100 copies were taken in the raid, which equals an awful lot of black-market gold. The robbery took place on Saturday night at GameStop at the Bel Air shopping centre. Call of Duty: Black Ops releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC tomorrow globally.
