GT5 "clean and beautiful" but PS3 "still not enough" for Yamauchi

Polyphony Digital's Kaz Yamauchi, Gran Turismo series creator, has admitted that Sony's PS3 is still a "restriction" just like all the others before.

Software is at the mercy of hardware and while the "vessel has become bigger," it is "still not enough" for Yamauchi-san's Gran Turismo ambitions.

"Software has to be created under the restriction of the hardware," said studio boss Kaz Yamauchi. Gran Turismo 5 is still without an official release date despite the game having been submitted for disc manufacture.

"With each new PlayStation, the vessel has become bigger, but it's still not enough," he added. "With Gran Turismo 5 we've made it as clean and beautiful as possible within the confines of the space we're given - but of course there's a lot more that we want to put in."

The Matrix probably wouldn't be enough for Kaz Yamauchi. Gran Turismo 5 releases exclusively on the PS3 sometime before Christmas this year promise Sony.
