Blizzard reveals that PC RTS StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty sold 3 million copies around the globe its first month in the shops. It got unveiled in 2007.

The Blizzard team started development way back in 2003, and there are two major expansions planned each featuring a full story-led campaign.

StarCraft 2 released July 27th on PC. Currently the Terran campaign is the only one to play in Wings of Liberty, however the next instalment - Heart of the Swarm - focuses on the Zerg and their Queen of Blades. Lastly it's Legacy of the Void with the Protoss.

Activision-Blizzard has just enjoyed a third-quarter with greater than expected sales and revenue for the mega publisher. It's good to be King, financially speaking.
