Recently Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi revealed that GT5 is finally being pressed onto discs, and Sony affirm it's due pre-Christmas.

While they "haven’t put a date" to GT5, Sony's Peter Dille says "it is coming before Christmas," just as Yamauchi-san pledged last month.

"Yeah, Kazunori came out with a comment that they are working on a few last things. He apologized to the community, but explained it is coming before Christmas," said Peter Dille, asked if Gran Turismo 5 was still on target for a 2010 release.

"We haven’t put a date to that yet, but we will just as soon as we get word from him when he’s done." Does that apply to the US release? "That’s correct," added the Sony boss. There's no word if the European launch will be happening this year though.

Already Polyphony Digital has begun work on Gran Turismo 6.
