The delayed EA Sports title NBA Elite 11 will be facing an even bigger push back now as the project has moved studios - 'quality' is thought to be the reason.

In September EA said they've got "ambitious goals" for the next NBA Elite, and they'd keep it until they're certain of a "breakthrough basketball experience".

EA Canada has lost the EA Sports project as it now goes to a team at EA Tiburon.

"We set ambitious goals for NBA Elite, and we are creating a game that will introduce several breakthrough features that have been missing from the basketball genre," said the publisher back in September. NBA Jam was to be its included free game.

“We are going to keep working until we're certain we can deliver a breakthrough basketball experience. We feel this is in the best interest of our consumers, our company and our shareholders." It seems EA feared NBA Elite 11 was no slam dunk (ha!).

NBA Jam releases now as a full separate retail title November 26th.
